When I wake up in the
morning I think of my wonderful husband and how much I miss him and wish he was
here. I live for every moment that gets my closer to seeing him so that I can
laugh with him about life and memories and the time spent apart only making us
stronger. Then you have love and I love every second out of those 15 minutes
that I get to talk to him on Sundays and I look forward to the next Sunday right
after the phone call end. But all of this is just in the moment and when he gets
home there will be something new to live for just taking it day by day gets you
through life and the people you meet on the way are a plus just make sure to
say hi.

You Only Have One Chance
I know that the saying is kind of stupid but when
you don’t say it after you have done something you can’t take back it really
makes since we only get one chance to make things right and not everyone knows
when they are going to die some of them don’t even think about death they think
it will never happen to them so they push it away and never really live and
love life they are just there. Morrie get the chance to say sorry and goodbye
before he die and not everyone is so lucky most of us just die and we didn’t even
see it coming like an accident. You don’t want any regrets if that happens so
you need to live in the moment and love people and have relationships so you
can have memories to last forever.
Ups and Downs of Life
Everyone lives different
lives and sometime we need this that we just can’t afford which is where thrift
comes into play everyone help everyone else out. We all give a help hand to
those in need just by donating our used clothes that we don't like or maybe they
just don't fight us anymore, but someone else might enjoy them. We all come
across hard time and being able to get a helping hand is maybe what we all need
but if the tables were turned would you give a helping hand some people would
and other wouldn't we all need to learn how to give and take and learn from our
mistakes. So we can all live in harmony.

Gap Creek home away from home
Gap
Creek by Robert Morgan published by Simon and Schuster,
Inc. Robert Morgan is an English professor at Cornell University in Ithaca, New
York he is a James B. Hanes Poetry Prize winner and has written many other
books. His first book was a finalist for the Southern Book Critics Circle Award
for Fiction. This book in shocking and embracing on what a woman can do all on
her own yes the book takes place in the past and the author does a great job of
showing what it was like back then so you get a taste of the troubles of our
past relatives. This book shows how a
young woman Julie goes through a hard childhood and a rough marriage with Hank
her husband and still makes it out alright.
This
book was a great read I wish it had a better ending or a sequel but other than
that I would say it is a must read it shows you so much about our past and what
men and woman had to go through so many years ago and to see where we are today
is amazing. How not having a job was
like back then vs. today we have shelter and thing to help those who can’t help
themselves and they didn’t we have come so far and this book shows that. This quote
will show you how different thing were “Papa dug out more worms to clear
Masenier’s mouth and throat. And when he stopped Masenie’s mouth was open and
his eyes was open, but he was still” (15). Back then they didn’t have 911 to
call so when someone was dying they had to try to do the best they could. “After we kissed and held hands and looked
into each other’s eyes for what must have been an hour, ignoring the birdcalls
from the hill, and Carolyn’s giggles behind the window, Hank said he had to go,
if he was to get off the mountain before dark”(46). Even in rough times you can
find love this book is a great read. Since I grew up on a farm it reminded me a
lot of home except for the fact that we have electricity which made me realize
how it would have been like back then which was very interesting for me because
I have always wanted to live in the past and that really showed ma a different
side of things. But having struggles no matter how hard they are and coming out
on top hit home with me and my life so I really enjoyed this book and I hope
you do too.
